One Operator, One Landscape

چکیده

The use of the term \landscape" is increasing rapidly in the eld of evolutionary computation, yet in many cases it remains poorly, if at all, deened. This situation has perhaps developed because everyone grasps the imagery immediately, and the questions that would be asked of a less evocative term do not get asked. This paper presents an important consequence of a new model of landscapes. The model is general enough to encompass most of what computer scientists would call search, though it is not restricted to either the eld or the viewpoint. The consequence is a \one-operator, one-landscape" view of search algorithms that is particularly relevant for algorithms that search via the use of multiple operators, and hence to genetic algorithms and other members of the evolutionary computing family. Crossover and selection landscapes are presented as siblings of the traditional mutation landscape. The model encourages a perspective on search algorithms that makes a clear division between landscape structures and navigation upon them. This division is the basis for the design of new search algorithms that combine elements of existing algorithms, an example of which is a crossover hillclimber. The model also establishes a strong connection with the heuristic state space search algorithms of Artiicial Intelligence.

Landscape assessment of high-rise buildings: A method based on 3DGIS, BIM and AHP

In this paper, we propose a quantitative indicator for measuring and ranking real estate from the perspective of the surrounding landscape by integrating the building information model (BIM) and the three-dimensional geospatial information system (3DGIS) based on the AHP method. The landscape is one of the qualitative variables which it's measuring and quantifying is a complex task. In previous...

On the Diagram of One Type Modal Operators on Intuitionistic fuzzy sets: Last expanding with $Z_{alpha ,beta }^{omega ,theta

Intuitionistic Fuzzy Modal Operator was defined by Atanassov in cite{at3}in 1999. In 2001, cite{at4}, he introduced the generalization of thesemodal operators. After this study, in 2004, Dencheva cite{dencheva} definedsecond extension of these operators. In 2006, the third extension of thesewas defined in cite{at6} by Atanassov. In 2007,cite{gc1}, the authorintroduced a new operator over Intuit...

Dynamic selection of evolutionary operators based on online learning and fitness landscape analysis

Self-adaptive mechanisms for the identification of the most suitable variation operator in Evolutionary Algorithms rely almost exclusively on the measurement of the fitness of the offspring, which may not be sufficient to assess the optimality of an operator (e.g., in a landscape with an high degree of neutrality). This paper proposes a novel Adaptive Operator Selection mechanism which uses a s...

Reviewing the role of urban landscape and vision on improving environmental quality (Case Study: Sa’di Street – Semnan)

Quality of urban areas and improvement of it have always been considered as one of the main issues in the process of urbanization. It might be possible to consider this importance as the result of fundamental changes in intellectual patterns during the past two decades in one side and its proposal in all aspects of human life on the other side though this is one of the main influential concepts...

Comparing Evolutionary Algorithms to the (1+1)-EA by Means of Stochastic Ordering

In this paper, we study the conditions in which the (1+1)-EA compares favorably to other evolutionary algorithms (EAs) in terms of tness distribution function at given iteration and the average optimization time. Our approach is applicable when the reproduction operator of an evolutionary algorithm is dominated by the mutation operator of the (1+1)-EA. In this case one can extend the lower boun...
